Studio Pottery Monster is Chartreuse Green w Blue Hair and Mustache and Red Tongue

This "monster" is is sticking out its tongue beneath its bright blue mustache which matches its hair. It is all handmade studio pottery which has been hand-built from tiny pinch pots. I join them to create the assemblage you see here. This technique is something I've developed over the last decade or so and can be tricky, but is worth the effort. Approx. 5" tall x 5 1/2" x 3 3/4" front to back.

Funny and risqué! Each is handmade by me from stoneware clay and kiln fired to approx. 2300° Fahrenheit. This one is lightly glazed in satin Parsons. The "hair" is electrical wire in brown and medium orange, you can still see the control numbers on some of them; I love that! I made the eyes from polymer clay. Everyone who has ever received one of these to date, has been thrilled. They're funny and cute and just silly enough to not hide just because they're risqué.

This one is high fired with bright red/orange polka-dots and a light coat of clear to give it a little satiny polished gloss. The three-tone red and cream "hair" mimics troll doll hair and I make it from yarn. I made the eyes from polymer clay. Everyone who has ever received one of these to date, has been thrilled.
